Hello

Ok, so it didn't work the last time and I took a sabatical for a few weeks........Hope you guys are still with me cause.......I'm really back, and a convert to boot. Just switched like 5 minutes ago. Wanted to get that part over before the weekend, so far so good. Looks like everything is here that should be. So now I'll have the weekend to play with the rest of the new toys.
In the meantime, here's a look at my new cat Keeta, that I saved from the SPCA before Xmas. He's a year and a half, and we have had a great time getting to know one another. My little Cockatiel Kiwi, died suddenly, and I was just so lost, that I went within 2 weeks and found another little animal that needed a home. So I'm post some pictures of my guy.
Had a bit of a scare this week with that cat food recall, as he was on Iams, but the dry food. So the vet says he looks fine, and it's just the wet food they are concerned about.
That's all for now. Will be posting some paintings next.

I'm Back

Hi, I'm back. I've been locked out of my blog, and after many hours searching and reading, and a few emails over the days. Very frustrating one's I might add. I have access again ( for a while).
I have to say I'm terribly disappointed in the help situation that Google has set up for us bloggers. It's like no one exists, there is no one to talk to, they just give you all these pages to read that click to more pages to read and eventually you're back to the first page, and nothing is solved. Just going to the forums is an experience you don't want. Google is really pushing to get everyone converted to their New Blogger, and locked me out in the process. I know there are many more like me, out there. They wanted everyone to have been converted by 2007 and that didn't happen, so they are pushing it now. I didn't convert as I was reading all the stories of other bloggers, and how much trouble they were having. So wanted to wait till the wrinkles were worked out. Now I know the writing is on the wall, I'm going to slowly convert after I copy and save everything on my blog
first. I'll just keep repeating "Change is a good thing, Change is a good thing" and keep my fingers crossed when I switch!!
BBL
Cheers,

HILARIOUS

Just stopped by a blog that I visit and had such a great laugh I wanted to pass it along.
The blog is called "Jafabrits Art", by a wonderful Ohio Artist who goes by the name Jafabrit.
It's a You Tube video by a British Comedian and I quote how Jafabrit explains it: "Have any of you ever read an unfamiliar word and misunderstood its meaning? Here is an example by the comedian Catherine Tate called "mushroom soup" which I think is just hilarious." And so do I, click here: Catherine Tate
I must admit that just listening to the British accent was a good laugh on it's own. (sorry to all Brits, but you got to admit it's hard to understand!!)

Blogging Tips for Dummies

That's me......and right now my head can't hold any more information.
I've been trying to learn the ins and outs of setting up and changing my templates for my blogs.
I've been wanting to do this for months, and change my colors etc. in my blog. So for last few weeks, on and off I've been looking and reading at many different places and sites about how to do this, and how to set up my own website.
I've just scratched the surface, but have achieved some good results, and believe me, if I can do it anyone can. You just have to follow a certain method (to the madness), and never do anything without having backup( I learned that the hard way).
Still haven't changed to the new blogger yet, but have set up another from that and just now learning how to do things with it. When I've got that down, I'll be changing this blog and my other one over.
There are some great places and people out there who will help if you ask. I just started with blogger help, and found that you get more info if you go into the advanced part. also reading the responses on the forums helps.
There is a book out called "Blogging for Dummies" that is great. Takes you step by step. I also found a weblog on Blogger called "Dummies Guide to Blogger" by a gentleman named Peter Chin here: http://bloggerfordummies.blogspot.com/
That I found very very useful, and easy to follow. This site covers the old and new blogger plus he has links there for two other blogs that cover more blogger tips and tricks. Just take your time on his blog to find what you are looking for. He has a lot of very useful information, and explains it very simply with visual help, so much easier to understand. Very worthwhile visit on his blogs. I thank you very much Mr. Chin, I've finally got a grasp of HTML and CSS, and Templates. and right now I'm playing with colors for my blog, and changing the set up. That should keep me busy for a while......... remember......always backup before you change anything!!!

"CIRCLE OF LIFE"

Last week started out on a sad note, as my mom passed away a year ago on the 20th November. It ended on a beautiful, happy note, as my nephew became a father, to a beautiful little girl on that day, around the same time my mom passed on, and they gave their daughter my mom's name, and called her "Hope" tis the circle of life. Isn't that something!!

I decided to do a quick graphite drawing of her its about 10x10
Baby has a few health issues, so sleeps alot.
Couldn't get her with her eyes open.
Graphite doesn't show up well here, better in real life.
She's got hair already.

This drawing is a part of a photo reference for the WDE(weekend drawing event) from last week on WetCanvas, an artists website. The host had a lovely photo of two young girls at their dance recitile. I didn't have time to paint, but played around with the drawing during the week.

Some Graphite Drawings

Did this one to draw the angle of the head which I
knew would be hard to do. In the original he's
laying on top of his motorcycle, and resting his
head on the bars. Just trying to get the pose
right, as I would like to paint him on his bike.
About 10x10 graphite
