Weekend painting challenge at WetCanvas, hosted by a lovely lady named Dewi, who just came back from her trip.   I loved the light in this, and haven't done a landscape for a while. This is a quick study maybe 45min or less...  Used watercolor pencils and some pastels on 9x12 paper.  Enjoy!!  :)

Butterfly On Queen Ann Lace Flower

This was done for a  May Monthly Challenge in the Floral Forum at WetCanvas.   We were asked to paint Butterflies on Flowers.  I chose this beautiful blue/black iridescent one, on a Queen Ann's Lace Flower.  These Butterflies, are all over the place here right now.  Hope you enjoy!!

 Painted with Heavy Body Acrylics, Open Acrylics and Iridescent Acrylic Inks, Brushes, and Palette knives for the flower. Abstract background On 5"x7" Canvas.
Just a quick update......I've been missing here for a few months due to some Health issues. Have missed this so much, and will be posting here more in the weeks to come.  Thank you for checking in to those of you who  have.  Much appreciated.

This was fun to do, very unique markings loved doing those feathers, and he had that look at me stare. Think I'll do some more just to give him company.

Red my favorite color, I use a lot of it in my paintings.  The background was done with my knives, gave it lots of texture.
